This is "Challenger". He belongs to one of the trainers for the wheelchair program and is my newest buddy! I snapped his picture tonight and thought I would share.
Challenger is not a working dog but, rather, the pet of one of the trainers so I really don't know. He may have been in the program and then rejected for some reason. This happens often and those dogs that are rejected get scooped up pretty quickly. They may be rejected for a very minor problem, like being considered too social. The space program would be a good bet, though.
