Ryan and the other Mira students received their dogs today!! It was very exciting and emotional. The students were called in to the main common area at around 9:30 to wait to receive their dogs. Eric, the founder of Mira, and the trainers were discussing final pairings in another room while the kids waited. It was like Christmas morning, waiting at the top of the stairs for the OK from mom and dad!
Once the pairings were complete, Eric spoke to the children about the selections and began the process of uniting the dogs with the students.The dogs were brought in together and sat on one side of the room. Then, one by one, Karen, a trainer also, brought each child their dog. There was hardly a dry eye in the room! I took alot of pictures and videos. Here are some of the pictures.
